It contains several items on the past of the military, with a particular emphasis on the personal experience of those on the ground. Battlefield archaeology and late 16th century naval schooling are featured, along with items on Black GIs in World War II and the Indian Army's contribution to holding the Germans at bay in the early months of the Great War.
