Well the last post was very excited about the new job. Since then things have been a little difficult to say the least!
The person I am taking over from has decided to call in sick for the rest of her notice period so no hand over, and just to make things interesting she has also destroyed all past files and deleted everything pre-2009 from the computer. fun!
Still have been panicing inside all week although people keep telling me I'll do fine. Had some of the club members contact me on Friday with messages of welcome and I have today got all the memberships our and letter explaining the change (yes I know it's a Sunday but it needed doing) so feeling a little calmer. Have one of the senior marshals coming in on Monday to help as well so fingers crossed.
Running aroung the track again in June please feel free to sponsor me or not if you are mean!
Yes doing the Race for life again I am a glutton for punishment, my sister and I intend to run the whole thing this year (once around the track at Silverstone)and we may even do it in pink tutu's if you all give us lots of money!
Well that was a wasted day as no gasman has appeared
Whatever happened to giving people times and appointments, when did we start this we'll be round sometime between, or it will be am or pm!
I waste so much of my time sitting waiting for deliveries or in this case the gas man to read the meter. (although he hasn't bothered for the last 2 and half years so nt sure he'll turn up now).
Still I'm sure work is still under 7" of snow so I shouldn't complain about not having to go in, although it did look really pretty on Saturday. No idea where the track was but I built a snowman and made a snow angel (not advised in work uniform it gets very wet), and shock I actually had 2 visitors!
(not sure how useful the spell check is LJ my spelling is so bad it can't seem t even guess the word I'm trying for!)

Just watched the GP2 race in Turkey (yes I will watch just about anything with wheel and an engine these days).
There was an accident where 2 stray dogs got loose on the track, one was hit by Bruno Senna's car which took him out of the race.
There was a lot of talk about the damage to his car and how unfair it was, and who was to balme for letting the dogs on the track, but the whole thing made me quite angry.
Yes I agree it was very bad luck for him and completely not his fault, but it wasn't exactly great for the the poor innocent dog either! Not one word on if the dog was killed out right you'd think sometone might check the poor thing was really dead not suffereing on the side of the track!
It's not much to ask, it was a very unfortunate accident and obvously track secuirty need to be tighter but once you have checked the driver isn't hurt, the least they could do is make sure the dog is not still suffering!
Why do we insist in playing world cup matches (rugby and Football for that matter) as England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland? (Well Ireland I can kind of understand, only some of it is the UK).
Just a thought, we do ok in both sports, but maybe if we joined all the teams together and fielded one team of the best in the UK we might actually be up there!
After all we are one country aren't we, I mean you don't see America or Australia entering as different states!
It's just sums up the arrogance and single mindedness and stupidity of this country, we can't even join together with each other for our own good, what chance do we stand trying to get on with the rest of the world?
It's like our whole resistance to joining Europe, why? Lets stop trying to climb up Americas arse and go with the countries on our doorstep. I mean it's not as if they are strangers we have been part of an empire in some form or another that has covered a lot of Europe for hundreds of years.
Sorry to break this to people but we are no super power, we no longer rule half the world, we are just another little island get over it!
hi all, well anyone thats listening
you will hqve to excuse any bad typing errors as I am sat at a computer in a little hotel in Belgium and it seems that they like to put letters in different places on their keyboards, so this is taking sometime to write anything
some keys likee a full stop for example have gone completely, maybe they have no use for one here!
just passing some time before i get ny train to Amsterdam later today, have waved Steph off this morning (ok the m being in another place is getting annoying now)and will be picking up my mother in amsterdam (dont ask)
its raining here too if fact has a lot recently, my tan if fading already (burnt for nothing)
Belgium was fun and it was lovely to see steph, but I miss the mountains already, I think I have discovered my true home (if I believed in all that crap) I want to live in the mountains, with the snow and learn to ski!
ok well will sign off now before I throw this keyboard at someone, or miss my train
HI just letting you know I'm still alive, have been unable to get my laptop hooked to the internet for a while so no more pic's up yet but hope soon.
In Bratislava at the moment nice but not a lot to do, the hotel is well basic to say the least but it didn't codt much.
Just going out for some dinner - dining alone in a resturant is a strange thing.
